Memorial Day 2007

In Memorium

to Those Who Gave the Ultimate Sacrifice

From "The Corresponding Breeze"

by Frank Messina

A great poet

once wrote of autumn leaves

and I am convinced

by the language of the wind

that he was speaking of leaves

and not of fallen soldiers

or their wives

and today, I too write of autumn leaves

and I am convinced

by the language of the wind

that I am speaking of fallen soldiers

and their wives

and of nothing of leaves at all
