Sesame
Street turns 40
When
Sesame Street remains an oasis in television for kids and their parents
to have a show which uses the medium of television for uplifting spirits and educatng
kids on how to educate themelves! I loved everything i have ever been priveldged
to do for them.
In
a violent world, reinforced by what i call the mindset of the wardens of the Penetentiary
of Bad Taste, Sesame Street is a blessing. Grownups need it as much as their kids!
We
desperately need a Sesame Street for adults, to foster creativity and respect
for one another, and inspire viewers to want to learn more. and then TURN OFF
OUR TV SETS and go out into the world and CELEBRATE LIFE!!
We
have an over-abundance of UN-Reality TV.
Let's
hope, with the new global conciousness that the Internet offers, that those who
control what we and our children see will step up to the plate and realize that
the avalanche of swill which they are dumping upon us is NOT HAVING ANY BENEFICIAL
VALUE TO OUR SOCIETY and that network TV should take a page in the book from BBC
in England and CBC in Canada and program shows that are NOT BENEATH THE LEVEL
OF WHAT SESAME STREET IS SHOWING FOUR YEAR OLDS!!!
If
Sesame Street can help young kids IQs to go up, isn't it time that on the 40th
anniversary of Sesame street, the programmers for Network TV should all take a
vow to stop programming shows that BRING OUR NATION'S I.Q.DOWN???
Since
life begins at 40, maybe this is the first day where Sesame Street's great work
can be a wakeup call for network and cable TV to SHAPE UP start using their resources
to do something of value for all of us who watch.
The
airwaves are a public trust, not just a dumping ground for advertising with occasional
interuptions of trash to fill in the gaps between commercials.
if
Sesame Street can do it, SO CAN EVERYBODY!!
Happy
Birthday Sesame Street!!
you
are still, after all these years, the hippest show in town!!!
